What is Different About Koffee With Karan This Year?
From what I watched from the first episode of the season featuring the dynamic couple, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh – there is a shift in this season.
Last year after the end of season seven, the host of the show was bashed a lot on media galore and forums for being nosy and talking about who is courting who for the whole season. In the trailer, Karan’s alter ego is seen teasing himself for the fact.
Gossiping isn’t a good trait, but the episodes that have spices and goss were the most watched episodes for the season. So why bash the host when most of the audience flock to the show for the very reason – hot goss and tea!
The most-watched episode starred Katrina Kaif, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Ishaan Khatter. One of the best goss sessions was Sarah Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor.
They dished so many secrets, discussed a lot about “certain” cheese platter, and highlights of their trip. Manier times I felt director and producer Karan Johar was giving Louis Litt from the series Suits.
Returning to the difference in format from episode one, I observed a lot of heart-to-heart, talking about mental health and how to feel aligned to these changes.
There was no gossip, no whinging, and no slandering at all. But we know Deepika Padukone has a history of playing safe. Maybe it will change depending on the guest, one can only hope.

Who is Expected to Be on the Coffee Couch?
As per the speculations, it’s safe to assume upcoming episodes may have Alia Bhatt with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kajol Devgan with Rani Mukerji, Sara Ali Khan with Ananya Pandey, Kiara Advani with Sid Malhotra. Again, these are just speculations!
Karan Johar on his Instagram Live teased famous star kids will appear on the show. Many followers guessed Sarah Ali and Ebrahim (Iggi Potter) which the producer instantly denied.
Then there was speculation of Khushi and Jhanvi Kapoor which he further teased everyone is guessing wrong. Now there is one strong speculation of celebrity kids – Suhana Khan and her brother Aryan Khan or Jhanvi Kapoor with her brother Arjun Kapoor.
Some of these names are speculations, while some have already filmed the episode. Right or wrong, probably, next Thursday we will get some clarity, as we see new guests on the couch. And for the first time! the couch looks like a celebrity that has been talked about for years, Finally!
